Big Changes

kids portrait

The new school year has started and has brought with it a huge change for me. Both of my girls are off to school full time, for the first time since my youngest is now in kindergarten. And since the girls have basically being home for most of the time the past 18 months, it feels like an even bigger change.

It’s definitely a bittersweet feeling for me to have them both off to school. I love hearing about their day when they come home and seeing how happy they are being able to learn and socialize with other kids, but I definitely miss them! It’s also so nice to be able to be more productive during the days, I feel like I am actually able to think straight and focus on things. This past year and a half in particular with all of the virtual learning made things so difficult to focus on photography or anything!

As sad as I get from time to time about the girls growing up, I really do enjoy each stage as they grown. Right now I just love their two, completely opposite, personalities and how much fun it is to see them develop as their own individual. We are past the stage of them being high maintenance toddlers that you can never take your eyes off of, and now they get to explore different interests and activities. Although I miss them during the weekdays, I’ll make sure to soak up all the time we do have together. I’m so thankful that as the girls grow I will have all of our stages and memories documented to look back on.
